About

My name is Jesse Jorgenson and welcome to my site.

Candid picture of me

I grew up in Ohio, Korea, and Virginia and spent my highschool years in a tiny town called The Plains, Virginia. As a teenager and young adult, my life was dedicated to music and becoming the best guitar player I could be. However, I eventually realized that the music industry was just not something I wanted to be involved in.

I then decided to study mathematics at James Madison University. During my senior year, I did research into gravity and the Three Body Problem. This research required a lot of coding and I began to learn how to program.

As I was preparing to graduate, I saw the impact that web applications were having on the world. I was also in love with Austin, Texas and was hoping to move there. It was then a pretty easy choice to move to Austin and begin a career building software and applications.

Since 2013, I have lived in Austin and Chicago working for a variety of companies ranging from early stage start-ups to large corporations to my own side businesses. I worked at Evernote for about 5 years and became tech leads on the Common Editor project which was the backbone for editing and viewing your notes. I left Evernote in 2023 after it was acquired.

I now work for an exciting real estate startup called Jointly and we are trying to revolutionize how real estate transactions are managed.

I also finished half of a Master’s Degree in Computer Science at Georgia Tech but I am currently on a hiatus and may not return.
